MEANDER

1) to proceed by or take a winding or indirect course
2) to wander aimlessly

It was a bright, sunny Sunday and Sebastian and I were ready for a day trip. This time our sights were set on the Berry Barn in Mount Vernon, WA for the biggest hedge maze in North America.

We hopped in the car, turned on some Head & the Heart, opened the sun roof and soaked up the scenery on our drive north. After we stopped to get a quick bite to eat -- it was off to the hedge maze.

The Berry Barn is an adorable farm, complete with a red barn and an American flag flying high up on a flag pole, truly picturesque. Upon arrival, we checked in and got our map for the maze. One of the workers gave us a quick run down and suggested we started with the rope maze.

We took her advice and found the rope maze (which is much smaller and has paths that are fully visible) to be more challenging than we initially thought it would be -- a good reminder to let your ego go when approaching something new. After we took a step back, started communicating better and conquered the rope maze, it was time to head into the hedge maze.

Sebastian was in charge of the map and I had the trivia page. I was very proud of the way we tackled the maze with a game plan and a lot of patience. Although we did not remember to start the timer when we started, we found ourselves at the finish much quicker than I anticipated.

If you are looking for a fun, sunny day activity, you should check out the Berry Barn.Take time to get outdoors and challenge your brain, but don't be afraid to just MEANDER

I like that they have multiple mazes--I've never heard of that before. Cutie patooties.
